Spiders (2003)
Ah, the much awaited mini-CD from Pigsty after their awesome groundbreaking album The Return. Over here the focus has been shifted from radical pigs on a theatrical farm to spiders in a seemingly hi-tech lab (now who would've thought!). The album starts off with a thumping fly buzzing intro that progresses into a very brief techno part but just before you start dancing, the second song starts and obliterates your existence.
They've taken their near-perfect mix of death and grind to the next level over here. It's as if some mutated spider stung the pigs endowing them with some nasty super powers, just like Spiderman, but over here not a man but a pig (Spiderpig?). It makes them faster, noisier, more lethal and a lot more intense. Of course, they still have their ultra catchy grind beats that would make you take high jumps on your bed, then fall down and eventually roll into a cocoon in your bed sheet or whatever you got on it. The high-pitched ultra-sonic piggy vocals here are even more ferocious and unrelenting. It's almost as if the pigs have finally had enough of human abuse and are voicing out their pent-up feelings (only to be slaughtered even more mercilessly later). There are also those gay shouts (that sound good) fitted well in there. The drummer is totally supercharged, so fucking insane; he's got 8 limbs I tell you, just like a spider.
Okay, one thing bugged me a lot and that's the
production. It's way too treblish and sounds noisy when there's really no need
cause –
1) They're actually playing good music here and,
2) The production on the first album was perfect; they should've simply stuck
with that.
The CD comes in neat packing influenced by the movie Matrix and of course, spiders. All the songs are about spiders. Spiders do this, spiders do that, basically trying to convince us how utterly cool they are. And to bring a wide retarded smile to your face and some spunk in your ass, they have their TERRIFIC trademark Rage against the machine cover, this time covering the song Wake Up from the album Evil Machine (it was also featured in the Matrix soundtrack). Well, that takes care of my morning tea.
Their full length was much better, but this still demands your money.

Malá zmena v logu názvu, kde "pigstera"
nahrádza nejaký "spiderik" a vlastne tomu je zameraný aj celý booklet
tohto mcd. Tiež sa konečne vyfarbili členovia tejto bandy a nebáli sa ukázať
svoju pravú tvár na samotných fotách medzi textami. Celkove vám to sluší, páni.
No a čo sa týka muziky? Ja už skutočne neviem, kde siahajú krajné medze tohto
kraválu. Už na "returne" to zaváňalo krajnosťou a teraz toto! To je
určite najextrémnejší počin týchto "pavoučích prasáku". Pigsty jednoznačne
radím spolu s Mincing fury... Medzi špičku tejto brutálnej odnože a to nielen
v čechách. Tu podobne platí to, čo som písal pri recenzovaní v minulom čísle
o skupine obliterate. Vzdávame pocty, uctievame prehnane podobne zamerané americké
a iné zoskupenia a to čo máme hneď pod nosom, to necítime. A navyše Pigsty majú
ohromnú šťavu;, ktorá steká z každej jednej skladby a mnohokrát práve
to chýba druhým kapelám. Zvuk? Čo budem písať. Každý, kto si to cd pustí, nemôže
ĺutovať investície doň. Kvalita po každej stránke. Osobne tento počin radím
medzi moje klenoty. Mám obavy s čím už len príde táto banda do budúcna. Tak
tomu hovorím "výprask na holú..." na záver z prachu a pavučín oprášili
skladbu "Wake up" od RATM a to je vám prídavok, ako sa patrí!

?Four little pigs walked on their own, suddenly they got angry? And they called them selves Pigsty! Four guys from the czech republic (does every band from this country play grind?!??!) Playing some sick as fuck brutal death/grind? This isn?t really outstanding, nothing much to tell them apart from the herd! Well maybe except for the vocal style, this guy growls like a mad man one moment, and the next comes out with some very inhuman higher than high, high-pitched screams (a lot like christ denied/labrat). I?m not even sure if there have two singer? Anyway another great release from bizarre leprous, keeping it sick!!

The new material of these crazy czech' audio-terrorists shows a new spiders-influenced
direction of the band ( so as conceptually, so musically). Insane crust/grind
vocals prefect combined with amazing chaotic grind song structures and powerful
supersonic drums - destined to become classick. Distantly, it reminds me - laughting
dog, inhumate, cripple bastards, sublime cadaveric decomposition and cephalic
carnage... Mixed with brutal chaotic crusty vocals... Bytheway, there are many,
many vocal-styles recorded on (grind-styles). Its very good. "Pigsty"
is a new name in extreme underground and this band have own naturally extreme
face in extreme metal, this mcd is a proof of it. "spiders" - one
of the best grind releases of this year. Highly recommended. (p.s. Mcd incl.
Ultra excellent and brutal cover of rage against the machine - wake up) enjoy!!!

A máme je tady zase, Pigsty to stále ještě nepřestalo bavit a jsou zpět, aby nám naservírovali novou porci v podobě pavoučků „spiders“. Tato lahůdka uvnitř skrývá devět zámotkových zákusků opět nekompromisního grind core nářezu tak, jak jsme na něj už od Pigsty zvyklí. Po úvodním mouším intru, které končí pavoučí večeří, se rozjíždí Otynova klepanice, Topinovi prasátkové a věru nas*ané hlasivky za pomoci hc řevu kytaristy Bormanna a nezapomenutelný hulič a trápič slečny baskytary Flegin. ?Spiders? Jsou zatím tím nejsilnějším dílkem, které podle mě tito gurmáni vyplivli na svět, takže se mi líbí celý scénář tohoto cd, jeho grafické zpracování a neumírající humor jakbysmet. Je určitě nelehké oddělit ten lepší prasečí grind core od slabého neprasátkového, ale nynější pavoučí Pigsty tomu svými živáky pořád dávají na prdel, takže je o nich pořád slyšet. Monstrózní strašidelná intra, šlapající neutuchající Spider cannibalism s velice vkusným šeptem, moje klepanice Cerbalus White madam namibu s nejrůznějšími vložkami a tím nejmilejším outrem, co jsem za poslední dobu slyšela, ale i cover od Rage against the machine Wake up, tak tohle všechno vás čeká na novince Spiders. Na Otynových nožičkách je také poznat ten pokrok alespoň o krok :o), Bormannova kytarová „sóla“ Vás nenechají usnout a křepčící Topinka už vůbec ne. Vcelku se mi cd moc líbí, jen bych mu klidně dala ohulenější sound, bicí mi přijdou takové moc vystrčené, že mi chvílemi překrývají poslech ostatních kusanů a slyším jenom virbl, pfff? Změna studia na Šopa studio je určitě adekvátní zvuku, přesto mají Pigsty větší potencionál na hraní takového grindového bordelu ne? Jakákoliv jiná grindová formace hrající pouze to druhé, a to ten bordel. Jinak na body nehleďte a Spiders si s klidem ve vaší grindové duši kupte, nezklamou vás (už Jen kvůli tomu pavučinovému formátu cd, ahhh? :o)!

Uwielbiam ?winie... Piękne i subtelne stworzenia. Podziwiam ich kształty, wdzięk i inteligencję. Nie zgrywam się, naprawdę tak uważam. Kiedy? Z pewno?ci? chciałbym hodować kilka pięknych maciorek...np. Z gatunku afrykańskich ?winek zwisłobrzuchych... Cudne, no cudne! Moj? miło?ć do tych zwierz?t pogłębia jeszcze czeski zespół, który za swoj? maskotkę upatrzył sobie wła?nie ?winię... Kto ?ledzi uważnie masterfula wie, że zespół ten rok temu uraczył nas soczyst? porcj? grindowej golonki, której sam mistrz makłowicz by się nie powstydził. Tym razem czesi odeszli od swojego konceptu i skupili się na paj?kach, co mi akurat jest nie w smak... Na szczę?cie muzyka broni się sama. Kurewsko brutalny i intensywny grind/death najwyższej próby. Gdzie? Czytałem, że Pigsty ma najszybszego perkusistę w europie... To nie s? czcze przechwałki, kole? Tak tłucze werbel, że mucha nie siada. Ekstremalne tempa to nie jedyny atut "spiders". Czesi wci?ż strasznie kombinuj? z wokalami, raz ?winie (yes!!!!), raz growle, innym razem krzyki, wrzaski i piski. Produkcja jest niesamowicie masywna, wgniata od pierwszych taktów... ?Wietny band, ?wietny albumik, tylko czemu mniej ?wini w ?wini?? Po co te paj?ki? Polecam, szczerze z całego serca... Wszak kocha się tylko raz :-)

This is probably another era of deathgrind where
brutality and catchiness goes hand in hand. Yes Pigsty is so fuckin brutal that
after a few listen they kinda turned my brain into worthless pulp yet i cannot
stop myself from playing their cd over and over again.
And i don't want to play this unless the volume is extremely loud. The strong
death metal influence in their music played a big role in adding brutality into
the groovy grind that they are spewing out here. One of the vocalists here (topi)
also vomits out in mfagcoqd so expect some really insane pig screeches. Guitar
riffs lean more into brutal death side, highly technical and versatile and the
drums don't seem to know when to slow down. All that was topped off by an ultra
brutal in-your-face sound production. And of course lyrics was also included
so if you wanna sing along to tracks like kf*wq#$gbf&#@xxx feel free to
do so, hahaha. Now isn't that an ingenious idea for a song title?
Anyway be prepared to some serious aural beatings once this cd starts spinning
in your player.
